A new dance studio is coming to the island of Hawaii, and its arrival has already raised a lot of eyebrows.
The Honolulu Dance Studio, which opened in December 2016, aims to give dancers a new avenue to express themselves, and it has already garnered some buzz.
“It is going to be really exciting to be on the island,” said Katies Dance Studio owner and founder of Hawaii Dance Studios, Rachel Levenson.
“I think it’s going to change the landscape of dance.
It’s going into the dance world and changing dance,” Levensen said.
The new dance facility is a place where you can do whatever you want, including dancing with a group of dancers.
“We are a new, new type of space, so we are definitely going to have a lot more flexibility to do the things we want to do,” Levasson said.
Levenson and Levensons mother also have two dancers who will be doing their own dance routines in the new facility.
Leveons mother said it’s important to start a dance studio that gives people the ability to do what they want to dance, not just a one-size-fits-all approach to dance.
“You can go to an existing studio and learn how to dance in a few months, but if you’re trying to learn dance from a new teacher, it takes longer,” she said.
“In the long run, if we can start to teach a group to do different types of dances and styles of dance, it could change the whole landscape of the dance industry in the Hawaiian islands,” Leveson said.
